Definition of Terms

STC – Specific trade concern, or trade concern

SPS - Sanitary and phytosanitary

TBT – Technical barriers to trade

CMA – Committee on Market Access

IL – Import licensing

Member raising – A Member who includes, in the agenda of a given Committee meeting, a concern on another Member's measure.

Member supporting – A Member who supports concerns raised on another Member's measure, but does not include it in the agenda of a given Committee meeting.

Member responding – A Member who maintains, or plans to adopt, a measure that is subject to concern among its trade partners.

Resolved concern – A concern for which all Members raising it have reported on its resolution at the WTO.

Partially resolved concern – A concern for which either some of the Members raising have reported on its resolution, or for which a solution has been reported for some of the products of concern, at the WTO.

Not reported – A concern for which no solution has been reported at the WTO. At any time, a solution might have been reached without the WTO being informed.
